July OLW Blog Hop

Welcome to our July edition of the
One Little Word blog hop for Ali Edward's class over at BPC.
We are all enjoying the process of getting to know our words
and how they relate to our lives.
I feel like I've paid a little better heed to my word, mindfulness, this month.

If you have arrived here from Margie's blog, you are in the right place.
If you are just starting here, all you have to do is go back to Margie's to start at the beginning...I'm honored to be second this month!

Since June is the month the kids bring their report cards home from school, I thought I would grade myself on of a few of the traits that have to do with being more mindful. Overall, I feel like I'm doing fairly well.
I have learned to slow down,
but the other items on the list haven't seen as much progress as I would like.
I hope my grades improve for the end of the year report card!

How do you feel you are doing with your word?
Is it still welcome in your heart and mind?

I found this for the back of my report card,
Source

I've also enjoyed the whole creative process of working on our 9 little canvases. I used Walnut Ink for the first time. I got out my paints again. I used some new Tim Holtz goodies and several of his stamp sets that I've recently acquired. I love all the sentiments that he includes.
They seem to pair perfectly with my word and theme.
The little "rest a minute" with the chair is a $1 stamp from Michael's.
First time use of that too.

The top left quote is from a Tim Holtz set, Nature's Elements, and says,

"live in the moment and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering"

That's what slowing down and enjoying the moment can do!
My Project Life album is full of those moments.

The top right quote "enjoy the journey" and the two images are also from a Tim Holtz set, Playful Journey.

The bottom right quote (along with the little stamped butterflies) is from a Gina K. Designs set, Dreams and says,

"We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty"
~Maya Angelou

I love that...change can bring beauty and
that's what I hope for with my OLW.

This is my favorite card out of all the one's I worked on.
The filmstrip is Tim Holtz and the sentiment is
from his stamp set, Playful Journey.
The butterfly punch is from Martha Stewart.

Thank you so much for stopping by to visit!

Hi Rebekah. I love everything about this month's OLW blog hop post. And your mini canvases are so creative.

Good luck with your 5k! How exciting. Let me know how it goes. Or even better blog about it and link up with me next week on Fitness Friday blog hop :)

Be warned...the races are addicting!

I love your canvases. And your report card, especially the back, is awesome. Your word is perfect. It fits so well with what I'm trying to do as well. I really was looking forward to this assignment, but I never found the time. Hopefully I'll be back in the blog hop next month.

Love your colours and the vintagey feel of your cards. I didn't think to add quotes or words to mine, but I love how you found such appropriate ones for yours. I'll have to remember that for next time. Thanks for sharing!
