Apirl OLW Blog Hop

Hello, and welcome back!
March has flown by with lots of excitement and fun in our household.
Spring is on the way too!

This month, my plan of action was to slow down when I'm running errands.
As you may remember from one of my journal entries in this post, I mentioned an experience of flying around Walmart, hurrying to get back home. I had my youngest daughter with me and one of her teachers, who has a new baby and wanted to show him off, was trying to get our attention. We were flying so fast we never saw her or even heard her calling out our names. I felt really bad about this.

Since this month was about taking action with our OLW, I decided to really be mindful of slowing down my pace. I've put it into practice several times and I must admit, it makes running errands a whole lot more enjoyable.

I smile at passers-by.
I get smiles in return, which somehow really makes me feel good!
I'm more apt to strike up a short conversation with someone near me looking at the same product or standing near me in line.
I notice my surroundings more.
I take in the beauty of things around me better.
I'm more mindful of time.
I don't get home and wonder what that blur of activity was for anyway.
I remember things better.
I can think more clearly.

Now, please know I have in no way perfected this habit. I've had my fair share of running errands in a hurry this month...but I do know, I avoid hurrying as much as I can, now that I know what it's like to slow down and enjoy the whole process.

Here are a few photos of my March OLW layouts:

I like these quotes in regard to my OLW,

Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it.

or this one,

Too often we are so preoccupied with the destination, we forget the journey.

You found some awesome quotes! I've been telling myself the same thing. Just the other day my 3 year old and I had no plans. We were just out and about killing time, yet I still caught myself rushing her. I am working on appreciating the journey more :)

And are you taking Doodle, Too? I never did much with the first Doodling class. Too much to do, too little time. That is why I need to slow down :)

And I have to say, I love your blog header! Is that new or was I just not noticing? Either way it is so cool!

Good job! One of my favorite quotes is this one: "You only get to live this day one time; take the time to see it clearly so you will remember."
